Interview

Had it today at 1pm.  Went alright but he is interviewing 8 people and only 1-2 are getting the job.  He liked my availability but i dont think ill get the job cause its only $7 an hr and i was making almost double.  I told him however i dont care what the pay.  Itll only be 20-25 hrs a wk which is nice.

 

Ill find out tuesday whether or not i got the job

Good job and good luck.  Don't worry about the other 8.  They aren't as polite or hardworking.  ;)  Office Depot right?  You'll have to deal with the public, and not just anyone can deal with the "doo doo" that customers deal out.

Bad thing was he didnt care about past experiences so my 3 yrs at menards and 2 and a half yrs at my internship mean nothing

that kinda sucks, were you able to local any engineering related jobs in the area?  I have my resume on monster.com and I've gotten probably 10-20 calls about jobs.

Ryan, if he doesn't care about experience, why is he interviewing people?  ??? Your continuous time spent at Menards and the internship show dedication and reliability.  Those are hard traits to find.

i did make a point to mention i was at menards 3 yrs (exactly).  

 

Jon no i cant find any engineering jobs around here.  I did apply to one which was perfect basically the same thing i was doing at my internship.  Never got a reply.  I emailed the guy and no response.  I have my resume up at hotjobs no calls as of yet.  Maybe ill put it up on monster.

Couldn't find the indiana one that was the same, but they have some resources on that site for you.

you know, even when someone says they don't care about past experience, it still plays a part.. he knows the experience is there,and that will sway him to you over someone that is coming in with nothing in their background
