broken exh.bolts in head,anyone? 01 HD

has anyone else had this happen ? out of all the problems this one`s the worst.im starting to get tired of it.list of fixes.most are minor but its time consuming to drop off and pickup everytime.

1)2 pc. driveshaft changed to 1.shudder at take off loaded

2)horns filling with water shorting and blows fuse

3)heater blower motor started squealing,replaced

4)alternator started screaming,replaced

5)drivers door,on its 3rd regualtor.speaker fell out of door,another trip to the dealer

6)pass. door on 2nd regualtor

7)mirrors,1 cracked and the other the heat stopped working

8)slight hesiatation,pcm reprogram ran great but drank like a sailor.had to go back to hesitation to get mileage back.

9)tailgate cables,both replaced with the old style,no one has the recall updated ones

10)power steering box leaking,replaced

11) steering wheel clunk,greased twice,2 trips to the dealer and back again

12) 3 hours from home and the cheap hose clamp they use (lower rad. hose) broke and lost coolant,that was a night mare.whole family, 5th wheel hooked up and 3 hours away from home.why do i buy new equipment? roadside repair on that event

13) clutch fan failed letting the truck to overheat,replaced

14)the infamous CSK between that and the exhaust leak it sounds like im driving a 25 year old piece of junk.and yes people have asked me if its a diesel,emabarassing to own a 2001 and have these issues.i work for myself and when i dont have a truck it really messes up my days.ive owned gm all my life and i know everybody makes bad product but im really tired of it.cant somebody make a truck that will last 3 years at least with just regular maintenance.

sorry but i had to vent.all this with all 29,000 miles on it

oh yeah my 04 tahoe w/5k has an axle seal leaking and what i beleive is a faint beginning of the csk.yeah right they fixed that for 04,yeah sure they did

Thats a ton of problems with one vehicle.We have alot of customers with GM s and never see that number of problems even on older GMs.

right,thats what im thinking.im warrantied until next march.ive got a few trips coming up so im going to wait a few weeks before i let them fix it. im also going to ask about the csk and get the usual b/s im sure.i havent decided but i might just ask them to buy it back when i bring it back for the repairs and complain about the csk resale etc.. no more new gm`s for me

i hope you dont have the problems ive had.heck for the money we all spend on these trucks we should just have to do maintenance,at least thats why ive been buying new since 96.i had another (gmc) bought back by gm in 98 so i know the routine and will fight them for another year if i have to..i think my list is some small stuff but no new vehicle 2 years old w/29k should have this many problems.i need the truck to work and dont consider this one reliable anymore.ever try to carry alum.planks(28 ft.) and pump jacks on a cavalier ? i dont even ask for a loaner anymore,thats a joke too..if they dont buy it back ill keep it and add it to the fleet for the guys to hammer.im looking for an older late 70`s-80`s 1 ton crew dually with a tight rust free body to restore and ill put that away in the winter and have a beater to plow with.gm lost me as a customer.ill never buy another new gm product again..there new promotion of this pushing quality is b/s there building junk and since my 2001 they have gotten worse..i know this personally, i also have an 04 tahoe thats starting at 5k with that resale value destroying csk.sorry for being so long winded but im sick of the agravation im going thru with this

I know what you are going through, I have a very similar truck to you and here is my list:

 

1.) Tranny went out at 48,000 miles

2.) Power steering is getting weak

3.) Left front wheel bearing

4.) Motor has lost significant power and gas milage

5.) 4WD doesn't disengage for a few minutes after shifting in or out (not push button)

6.) Throttle was sticking due to "carbon build upin the throttle assembly"

7.) Parking break is worthless (has been since I bought the truck)

8.) Key falls out of the ignition while driving and half the time nothing happens when I turn the key

9.) Engine has the "knock" and that is anytime I start the truck (still don't believe GM's explanation)

10.) Vacum leak somewhere on the engine

11.) Paint is going bad

12.) Heated mirror stopped heating

13.) Driver's window motor went out 2 times.

14.) Transfer case to tranny seal went out

15.) All of the clutch is gone, clutch, master and slave cylinder (I think those 2 are related, warranty rep doesn't)

16.) AC went out

17.) Had the steering column greased 3 times for clunking

18.) The engine has lost a lot of power and gas mileage

19.) front speakers crackle with any base, and I am not the type to listen to blaring music to blow them out

 

Should not have this much trouble with a 3 year old truck, I could undertand half as many or fewer problems, but this much is rediculous, no wonder vehichle value drops so much when you drive it off the lot.

90 GMC with 95K only problems so far are as follows

1. bad paint (common for the year I'm painting it soon)

2.warped front rotors(haven't replaced cause I've been lazy)

3.hesitation(should be gone after this weekends tune up)

4.driveshaft clunks(u joints this weekend I'm gonna be busy)

5.found a harness partially unplugged under the hood. I think it goes to the brain or somethin but now the parking brake light is on all the time.

I think after reading so many posts like the troubles you guys are having I'm definately NEVER gonna buy a new truck. I guess they don't make em like they used to
