315's and other mods

I cranked about 2" a made a 1" shock spacer and also a bumpstop spacer to fit my 315x75 BFG All-Terrain's and keep it at factory ride. I trimmed a little of the air d**n and some inner plasticc but It does not rub at all on the road. My fenders up front are at 42". Im amazed at how big the truck is now and very happy with the ride. For all those who didnt think 315's would fit, here's the proof.

I also ran a dual in dual out 50 series flowmaster, put on clear corners, and built a dual 10" sub enclusre that fits under the rear seat. I had to make 1/2" spacers for my rear seat to fit it but it fits and sounds great. I also tinted the windows 5% all around. Whenever i can get some cash im gonna pick up an intake next, but that's about it for now.

They measure out on the truck to be 33.8"

How much noticable low end power loss have you noticed?

Thanks, just what I wanted to see...315's on stock. Are the tires crowning in the middle or do you have them aired down?

You didn't have to trim the plastic air dam?

How is the ride? Did shimming down the shocks with the spacers help? Did you just use washers?

Why the bumpstop spacer?

Just cranking with the factory keys or did you install the green keys?

I like to know more bout the shock spacers as well.........I've also read where some guys are using longer shocks (H2 shocks) instead of the shock spacers. Does this really make the smoother?

Are you running the 315s on the factory 7" rim? I would like to see some pics, but my PC keeps timing out before your pictures load up. Maybe the net is just busy. Will try again later. I wold like to put 315s on my 04, but don't think they will fit the 7" stock rim on the 2500HD. Send me some pics of yours if you get a chance. [email protected]

According to BF Goodrich spec sheet the 315s are 34.7" OD and the 305s are 33". I would rather have more height then width, but you can't find a 34" narrow tire. 255/85/16s are the tallest narrow tire you can buy.

The reason I used the spacers for the shocks if for the extra travel and the reson for the bumpstop spacer is that they come from the factory touching the LCA's, it's used as part of the suspension itself so i simply just wanted to put it as close to factory as posible. I dont know if it really made a difference but the shock spacers did. I just used washers for the spacers, I think it was right at 1" of washers, there wasnt enough bolt to go any more.

The tires are 315x75x16 which measured out to be 44.5 off the truck and are about 12.2" wide. They are the equivalent of a 35x12.50 just for a 16". My wheels are factory polished aluminum HD wheels and they measure 7.5" wide.

The tires dont sit as flat as my 35's on 10"wheels but they lay down pretty flat, I did let the pressure down to about 40psi to get the footprint flat. I would say that they should wear pretty flat.

I did just crank the factory bars about 3/4 of the way, which gave me plenty of hieght, I'd say right at 2" but i didnt measure before hand. My front is actually higher than my rear, before I had a few inches of rake.

I just trimmed the air d**n a hair and some of the inner fender behind the front tire. They turn lock to lock on the road without rubbing.

Well, I may have to rethink my tire issue then. I wanted larger tires, but didn't want to change out the stock rims. I shouldn't have to trim any since my front replacement bumper did most of the trimming when installed. I may not be able to pull my trailers 70mph with the larger tires though.

Man sweet truck, im thinking of doing that to my 02 HD Duramax Silverado it pretty much sits high enough from the dealership and my little tires doesnt match the look of my rig but im diffently going to try out some 305's first and see how they look hopefully i can get it to look like yours1
