The battery is dead. sooner or later it usually happens to all of us.

This my normal process:

Connect the battery charger.

Find something to do for an hour.

Disconnect battery charger.

Start vehicle.

Right?

OHHHH NOOOOOOOOO

Not with the new sh$t.

Insert key .

Turn on ignition.

DIChead dispalys "Unknown Driver"

Rotate key to start position.

Engine cranks.

Engine Starts.

Release key.

Engine dies.

:seeya::thumbs::thumbs::cool::)

I finally got it started after DISCONNECTING the battery for 30 minutes.

Then reconnecting.

Can anyone find anything in the Owners Manual regarding this procedure.

Yes. I was so frustrated I page through all 6 sections. :D

Thanx for reading my rant.

I do not believe that it was the crank relearn procedure....

Could this have been the Passlock feature... did you notice if the security light was on steady at this time??

My guess is something with the voltage coming out of the battery charger must have scrambled the PassLock coding in the security module, kind of like how a power surge at home will screw up your PC. Once you disconnected the battery it reset and once again recognized your key.

Advice would be to disconnect the battery from the vehicle before connecting the charger. This is also why they tell you to disconnect the battery when doing any work on the truck, the electronics are sensitive.
