yet another coolant leak...

has anybody had a coolant leak on a 5.3L towards the front of the engine? this is the 3rd coolant leak that my truck has had (42500 miles), and im not happy...i cant locate the origin of the leak, but it starts somewhere in the lower front of the engine, and it runs all along the bottom of the oil pan to the drain plug...i dont know how long its been like this, since i had to take the skid plates off to see it...some of the steering components are a nice Dexcool orange also...

 

the first two coolant leaks ("porosity" in the engine head, and a leaking freeze plug) were covered under warranty...this one, im not so sure...

 

 

 

what would you do?

waterpump gaskets, seen them leak , alot more often than the waterpump actualy

thanks for the replies...i looked under there, and it doesnt look like the leak is that far up the engine...it looks like the bottom of the timing chain cover was leaking at some time...

99%of the time it is the waterpump gaskets,and it is very hard to see it actually leaking from the gaskets themselves,but a sure sign of it is when it runs down and onto the oil pan.I've replaced many of the gaskets very easy to do.Good luck

Since the water pump bolts up in front of the timing cover, it may give the illusion that the timing cover is leaking. If the timing cover were to leak, it would leak oil, not coolant.

Is this all that common? I seem to have the same leak. Thought it was the water pump, but hopefully just the gasket. I will have to check it out i guess.

Or add some radiator sealant if the radiator is the cause of the leak.
