05 Z71 Crew cab

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've been on the forum... I have had a car for the last 3 years :smash: . However, I will soon be going back to a chevy z71. I plan to order a 05 Crew cab 1500 z71 in the next month. I have a few questions because everything has changed since I had my 00 Z71

1. Has anyone financed a new truck with GM in the last few months? I hear you get an additional $1500 off if financing is done through GM? what was the interest rate? please provide any helpful info

2. I'm a little confused as far as the engines go.... I know you get the standard 5.3 - 295hp... however, I also saw a new 5.3 HO - 310hp listed as an option.... is this avaiable with the Z71 1500 crew... or just the LT 4x4 crew cab?

3. Does anyone make a sub woofer encloser for the new 1500 crew cab ... I had the JL steathbox in my 00 x-cab... however, JL does not make anything yet for the crew... any other company????

BTW.... I'm ordering a black W/ charcoal leather, Z71 ... fully loaded... 31K after rebates.plus tax's, tag

Thanks for the help... it's nice to be back.

I looked into the $1500 GMAC bonus that was offered to me in October. The finance guy was all happy about showing me the rebate AND the GMAC bonus and it did look good on paper. When asked about the interest rate, I nearly fainted. It was 8.9%! It would have cost me a lot more to get the rebate at the higher rate than at the promotional rate without the GMAC bonus.

As for the 310 HP aluminum block motor, all I know is that it could not be had in my configuration (standard cab/short bed).

I also heard something similar... bad rate. However, my dealer told me I could get it through GMAC, then refiance without a prepayment penity... any truth to this?

bought mine in sept, the offer is 0% or $1500 rebate. I took the $1500 topping my rebates off at $7000, my apr is 4.9% untill I refinance next year.

5.3 HO - 310hp is a new motor, all aluminum block, aluminum heads, etc. Looks like a real cool motor. Most crewcabs come standard with the 6.0L, but I am not sure about the half ton crews.

Mid year 2005 a sunroof is also avail on the crews and extended cabs (kind of makes me wish I waited on buying mine....I have more info at home, I picked up the 2005 dealer brochure when I put my truck in for its complementary oil change.

I bought my 04 on September 30 and it had a GMAC finance $1000 bonus. The rate was around 8.5% if I remember correctly. I asked about the refi option and as you said he said there would be no prepayment penalty. However, he asked that I wait 3 months before I refi because GMAC would charge the dealer for the rebate (don't know whether this was true or not, but tend to think it was based on the rest of the story.) I told him I wasn't all that thrilled about having to pay the high rate for 3 months and hinted the deal may have hinged on it. He then told me I could finance with Nuvell Credit (he said they were GMAC's high risk credit unit-even though my credit was good) and that GMAC would not charge back the rebate if I refied. Guess Nuvell figures credit risk folks would be hard pressed to refinance anyway. So I agreed and he said as soon as I received a payment book from Nuvell to come by and we'd work on a refinance. I checked with my local credit union, but the dealer finance guy came through with a really good rate that beat my credit union on the refinance. I paid off the Nuvell loan approx 30 days later with no penalty to me or the dealer and was able to get the extra rebate this way. Really appreciated my dealer working with me to "beat the system." Don't know if all of this would apply to your situation, but it DID work for me. Best of luck!!!

I got my '05 Silverado Crew Cab in October, and with the cash rebate, the interest rate through GMAC was 5.9%.

The 310 hp engine is only on 4X4 extended cabs, not the Crew Cabs.

I took delivery of my '05 1500 LS Crew Cab 4X4 on the day after Thanksgiving. I got $1000 bonus cash from GMAC and 3.9% for 60 months. Now I see it's $1500 bonus cash with 3.9% for 60 months on my same vehicle if you take delivery by 1-3-05.

Just got mine 12/26 and grabbed 2000 rebate and additional 2000 in my region (1500 in others) when financed through gmac at the higher rate. I put down an additional 3000 and got a rate at 6.95 and am allowed to refinance after 6 months and should get a better rate. THis is on a 05 GMC Sierra 1500 crew z71. It all depends on credit history how much you put down and length mine was 60 month.

just found out that you don't have to wait to refinance, the dealer stands to lose if you refinance before 3 months, that's why they are telling you to wait 3-6 months. I called bullsh*t and they admitted to it. Take the cash always and refi just after. I got a rate at 5.0 on refi and save big $$ now

Just another note: the 310 Hp engine has the same torque rating as the 295 Hp engine.

A few days ago i started a lease for a 05 crew cab with the 5.3L. it's the LS package though- not the Z71. $330/month for 48 months and $17K buyout is the deal i worked out. (basically the same as putting a 17K down payment on it and financing for 48 months- assuming i can pay off the 17K at the end and not need to finance that)

Well I really scored cause I found a leftover 04 and got about $7000 off and 0% for 72 months! Sounds like the best your gonna get now is the 3.9% and whatever you can get off from the dealer.

As for the sub, any good stereo customizing shop should be able build a sweet box to fit the amp and sub into a box that will fit under the rear seat.

Good luck with your purchase.

hey, if you dont mind me asking- what are you paying per month with that deal? i had to base my purchase on a monthly payment price because i still have 3 semesters of school left and cant afford over $400/month...

it sounds like you got the deal i was looking for though

Well, I hate to tell ya, $400 isnt gonna cut it. The sticker on my rig was almost 42K, and dont forget about Uncle Sam and the DMV along with prep and shipping, and I opted for an extended warranty, so do the math......
