The Dodge Ram SRT-10

I'll tell you one thing, that truck looks bad butt.  I truely hope GM doesn't plan on competeting with this truck and the Lightning with that extended cab thing that has been making the rounds.  Because if Dodge can find a way around CAFE and shoehorn that V10 in there, I would like the Vortec 8100 in a Silverado.  Thats just what I think though.  I also think that if GM killed off the camaro, chances are pretty slim of getting a truck like this anyways.

This truck here is what I want.    Coolside II

Same here Kyle!  I could do with out the flames, although they don't look too bad.  I'd like to see a fleetside too.   :)

Oh, I forgot to say, I think the SRT-10 looks pretty sweet!  GM better get on the ball!

Holy Sheep S#@t?   WOW Dodge?  A big brother to the Viper, now the Z06 needs a big bro.Can you say a Lingenfelter tuned 496. We may have to invade and conquer the Middle East if this keeps up.Every one ought to know that a crate Viper motor costs 12 grand with a discount so this Super Dodge should cost near 40 grand.Chevy should be able to build a 2WD big tired big block 550 hp shortbed for less than 30.If they can offer a Vette for the price they get they can do this truck right. Of course I'll need the 35 gallon fuel tank.YNUK NYUK NYUK.

I say chevy should make the SS that's pictured in the article, just loose the unibody look.  The front end is nice and it would be great if those air scoops on the bumper were to feed a supercharged engine.  The AWD feature would be great for some get up and go.

As much as I love GM trucks, this Dodge is going to be the truck to beat. Finally they have come up with a real performance truck, the SST and RT are just mere drivers compared to this.

As I see it, Dodge is building this with the same outlook as the Viper and Prowler...exotic performance that few can afford to drive every day. It will become another collectable.

Chevy and Ford atleast keep the consumer in mind when they build their concepts and produce them more towards a daily driver w/ the extra flash. I think we will see more Silverado SS's on the road.

Wow, the Dodge does raise the stakes!  I have to admit - looks pretty dang nice.  A seriously awesome beast.

So, it's time to get GM off it's butt (you guys listening in Warren?).  Sure hope they do drop something into the Silverado SS to compete, even if it's just a high-end option, whereas maybe the "base" engine puts out a paltry 400 HP! (this way it competes well with the Lightning)

Say, how about that 750 HP V-12, mentioned in the Caddy Cien thread?  C&D claims that GM *will* be building the engine, supposedly for the Escalade, but not the Cien, if it even gets the go-ahead for production. :)

Just punch out the 496 to 540 cubes, forge the bottom end (so it can handle a power adder later), fill in (to increase compression), port and polish the heads and throw in a cam that is similar to the LS1 grind with high lift, long duration and quick ramp speeds, and that little V-10 will look like a Yugo powerwise in comparison.

No need for a fancy Caddy motor!

Is it just me or does it seem GM is always behind. There is an interesting story that I found on the CNN webpage on how the executives at GM are trying to turn this around. GM has recently hired Lutz, the designer of the first Vipers and Prowlers to jump start GM. His first attempt at this is suppose to be coming out at the auto shows this spring..a Pontiac something? and I guess he is working with Cadillac now redesigning a new STS. Lets hope the truck divisions get a crack at him to!!!! : :)

Welcome to the forum.

I heard that pontiac will be making a turbocharged car on the AWD subaru platform.  I heard that a while back and can't recall the details of it.
