I've had my 05 2500HD 6.0 for 3 weeks now, 350 miles....seems to stumble alot when trying to start off if its not really warmed up....even if I warm it up for a few minutes....is this common ? Also I can feel looseness in the steering wheel, when going over bumps....I hate to call the dealer after 3 weeks.....

This is my 5th full size GM truck in 10 years and so far every one has been good to me.....

I would get ahold of your dealer...

My '01 was a 6.0L and it ran best when it was cold!!! You may need to have your computer updated, or something similar.

Now, why would you hate to call the dealer after only 3 weeks? They should interested in fixing it and keeping you happy. If they aren't, try another dealer.

Besides, you may have something safety related wrong with your steering. People screw up, sometimes on the assembly line even. It happens, but you may not know about it until you're sailing through the median wondering why you have a steering wheel in your hands and it's not connected to the truck! Okay, I hope it's not that bad, and I hope it doesn't happen, but run it to the dealer. They can't charge you anything for warranty, and they usually treat you well with a courtesy shuttle or a loaner car.

Your tranny might be low on fluid. If you ruin it, and YOU're the one who's supposed to check it according to the owner's manual, YOU might end up being the one with the problem later on. Again, I hope it's not that bad, but the dealer should be able to help you out on this one too.

I recently took my truck in with 12 minor problems. I haven't paid a dime, although they are a little slow getting the replacement parts in for it. They offer me a ride in the shuttle car every time too, although I only accepted once. And, this is not the original selling dealer! I bought my truck from an individual and the warranty transferred to me. Yeah, sometimes people have to take their truck in several times to fix an intermittant problem, but that's the way it goes. I've spent days and weeks on intermittant problems at work (and it's totally unrelated to cars!).

ENJOY your new truck! I'm really enjoying mine, well, except when I pull up to the station...

I have to agree, take it to the dealer! There is no reason not to. Better to be safe than sorry. Just because it is a brand new truck does not mean it is free of flaws. The engine should not be stumbling at all and steering shafts have been know to cause problems on these trucks as well. At least on some of the previous model years...
