Would appreciate your thoughts....am I over the top on this? Want to go with K&N FIPK. Would I be crazy to also put on TB spacer, (already have Helix) also thinking Granatelli MAS sensor. Also will all this fit. Is this to much? Bought spacer and didn't think to check to see if it would fit with stock air tube. It bring air tube to far forward and looks like to me it would hit on the fan cowl. Have noticed that some of you don't think much of these spacers. Did I buy an expensive paper weight? Have e-mailed K&N but didn't get the response I was looking for. Responder seemed to be confused with Year and model of truck? Did not really answer my question.

PS. 2000 5.3

The dyon`s I have seen on the third gen ls1 motor have showed no gains with the TB spacer.. If it was so good then the Ls1`s F bodies would be running them..I have been on the Ls1.com sight for four years and don`t know of anyone running them..There is a reason for that too..

Your stock 80mm maf flows  a lot more air  than your stock motor can take in.. I just suggest a hypertec programmer and air induction to get air in and raise your timing..

I'll have to agree w/ redhawk on this one.  The new Mass Air Flow sensor and throttle body spacer aren't really needed if you get the FIPK.  Just put that extra 400 bucks towards a new exhaust, or HPPIII or even a stereo upgrade.  The hp gains you'd get from those would be so little that it wouldn't be worth it.

Thanks Guys...Should have mentioned already have Gibson cat-back. Can't let my wife see this or she will want the cash!!! Remember to we are talking Canadian monopoly money so when you say 400 bucks, think again more like 700 Canuck bucks. So I was right, maybe my Calgary speedshop will take spacer back on trade for FIPK.Thanks Again

PS. sorry about the hockey game on Sunday, but after all we deserve it after 50 years.

From a former LS1 Z28 owner, the spacers and "air spinners" such as the helix / tornado, are wastes.  The LS1 breathes just fine with a K&N FIPK regardless.

By the way, if you really get down to the nitty gritty, high speed air turbulance exists in most automotive intakes as soon as air passes through a paper filter... K&N's layered gauze technology 'straightens' the air for less turbulance which increases the effectiveness of air volume inducted.  Oddly enough, this turbulance is actually accentuated by the products such as the tornado / helix... do you really want more turbulance?
