Remote Keyless Entry Feedback Programming

I think I really messed up things. I was messing with the Lock/Unlock Buttons on the armrest this weekend. It sees that I've managed to reprogram the Lock/Unlock "Feedback" function. Now when I use the remote key entry, I get one horn honk while locking the truck and two short honks while unlocking the truck. I've searched many forums and also the manual. I know that you can perform this reprogram via the "DIC" but it says this function is "off". I've read the manual too. I've tried many times to reprogram this feature using the DIC but it will not change the

I was thinking that an older truck that used the armrest buttons for reprogramming this function (versus the DIC) might be a fix? I'm hoping I can somehow override whatever I did. I do not remember the sequence that I hit the armrest buttons.

Also, will disconnecting the batteries reset all the custom DIC's to the factory presets?

I hate this function (It is rude to others) and I'm ready to just disconnect the horn until I get it to the dealer.

Thank you very much.

There is no way I am aware of to change these settings through the door lock/unlock buttons. It's all done through the DIC. Are you sure you're saving the changes? There's both a LOCK and an UNLOCK verification, which can be set to horn, lights, both or OFF. Disconnecting the battery won't reset it.

Thanks very much for tying to help. I believe that I am saving them correctly. When I go back through the settings they are set correctly (on the DIC). But it still does the honk (lock)-double honk (unlock) thing. I'll try again.

Is there any way to get a hold of the sequence used on an earlier model truck manual or sequence that did not have a DIC?

I may be wrong, but knowing programmers many times they leave the old code in the software and build on top of it. My guess is that the old way is still programmed in the firmware and it's not covered in the manual since they added the DIC.

Thanks again very much.
