Tail light guards

Since I bought my 05 Silverado, I have been contemplating swaping out the rear tail light lenses for ones from a GMC. I just like the smooth look better than the two big round bulges on the 03 and up.

 

However, on the highway yesterday, I had a truck pass me with these awesome looking tail light guards, the bolt on, welded metal ones, not the stick on plastic ones.

 

The design of the guard actually made it look good.

I want to look into getting a set but I can't find any pictures of what they look like.

One accessory dealer in town had a small pic in a catalog, but you can't see anything.

 

I don't know what brand they were, but they were really different from the ones on my Suburban.

 

do any of you have any personal pics of your rigs with tail light guards??

 

It is amazing to me, I have been visiting these manufacture's websites and many of them do not show any updated pics on their products on anything in the new body style.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I cant help you on the metal grilles for the tail lights, but if you do end up gettin rid of your stocks lights, i would like to buy them off ya if the price is right..

In case I keep them, I have a local wrecking yard with at least 2 perfect sets, I just saw last week, one of them was on a front end wrecked 2005 SS

 

I'll check and see what they want for that set also.

I guess you did not understand my original post then.

I was asking for a pic of a 2003 thru 2005 Silverado with taillight guards, in hopes of finding the same ones I saw on a truck the other day.

I know what basic tailight guards look like so looking at a pair that fits a Toyota is no big revelation to me.

I found a set today that I was looking for, they are made by Manik.

They really make the rear taillights look good.

Thanks, I'll be here all week, ha. Actually I wish we'd get a few days of 40 and rain to melt the snow and get the salt away. I need to take the trailer out and pickup the bike after a new paint job.
