I am trying to install a set of gauges, the temp and oil went fine. The directions say install it to the horn relay. This is on a 94 chevy 3500 pickup. Is there any other way to istall this meter, the horn relay plugs in the main wiring on the fire wall, with four wires 2 hot, 1 to the switch, 1 to the horn. What is the best way to install this?

Ammeters are not a good indicator of charging system condition. A voltmeter is the best option. ANd be advised to make an ammeter work you had best use something other than 18ga wire IMO.

good luck

It would be good as an indicator to show a heavy drain on the battery such as a defective hood light switch when the engine is off.
