Anemeter/Volt meter help

I have a 1986 Chevy Silverado C1500 with the 305cid 4 barrel carb.

My anemater/volt Gauge is not working. I have taken it out and checked it out with my multi-meter and did an ohms test on it and it appears to be good. But, it is not showing any volts at all.

I am thinking that it is a wire that may be loose/bad/disconnected. I am in need of advice on where the wire comes from. I think that it goes through the starter and then on to the gauge. A wiring diagram would be nice. If it does come from the starter? What side of the starter does it come from?

A little help is greatly appreciated.

This is something that has aggrevated me for some time. All i need to know is... what wires go to it and where they come from so i can check them out and get this thing working. It is about the only thing is the truck that isn't working. Heck even the old clock is still working in it.

Thanks in advance.

I am also wondering what are the wires that go to the starter?

I know the positive lead from the battery and the wire from the ignition switch.

I need to know the other wires and where they are placed on the starter. if i find this out? I may be able to know my problem with the Volt Gauge.

If anyone has any ideas. i am all ears and would greatly appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance.
