So today I went to get a part for my dad's 01 Z28 and I took a few mintutes to walk around and what not. Man, they got some really cool stuff out. I even had a chance to check out an 07' Av. Very nice looking definatly. If it wasn't for time contraints I was gonna try to let the salesmen take me out in a Cobalt SS. That car looks fun! Maybe I'll swing by later and snap some pictures. Not sure whos all see the new Av.

If you're going to ride/drive in a new SS...Why in the heck would you pick the Cobalt?

I agree with everything else you said though...There's some cool stuff on Chebby's lots these days.

hah, they didn't have any Trailblazers on the lot, and all the other SS models were Monte Carlo and Impala.

However they did have one car that really intregued me. Malibu MAXX SS. The car claimed to have a V6...I don't remember which displacement, but I have to go back to Norman Frede today. I'll snap some shots of all the different rides I think might might make for watercooler talk.

The Malibu "SS"s have a 3.9 liter "3900" V6 with 240 HP and 241 lb.ft of torque,They also have Tap-Up/Tap-Down shifting of the automatic transmission.

And the 303 HP in the Monte Carlo and Impala "SS"s make them real quick,Take a ride in one if you get the chance,Just be ready for the torque-steer!

Yea, too bad you can't get a manual tranny in the Monte or the Impala. You can in the Cobalt.

In about 6-8 years there wont be any manual transmissions. They will all be paddle shift.

lol, I wouldn't doubt it. Although the Monte Carlo is supposed to pretty quick, and the Cobalt is probably pretty nasty in the twistys. I'd like to see a Cobalt SS v. Civic SI.

I'm really diggin those Monte Carlo SS's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they're rear wheel drive.

Monte SS is still Front drive.

Don't underestimate the Cobalt SS it is pretty fast for a SC 4 banger. Great 0-60 car and one to throw around. Competes with all the other ricer types.

the monte ss is a blast to drive. i drove one a couple weeks ago. there is deffinately some torque steer but if you know its coming its easy to control. the malibu ss is nice if you don't mind a smaller car. i drove one af them as well.

As the owner of a 2006 Malibu SS for the past 32 days, I can say it's a pretty decent car. I wanted something cheap for a daily driver but still decent so I thought I'd give the MSS a look. After one month of ownership I have to say we really enjoy the car and the looks are really growing on me. I chose silver because I wanted the easiest color to maintain. It sure is more fun to drive around town than my Jimmy was!! The mileage is actually lower than my 2003 Bonneville was but the MSS is probably geared steeper.

Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. Now I just need to get the windows tinted.

Maybe the guys at Chebby will wise up one day and once again produce the SS Monte Carlo and SS Impala with a V8, the transmission mounted behind it and the rear wheels putting the power to the ground, the way God intended it.

Just something about a SS that has the front wheels pulling that makes me feel a little squimish.
