That cladding was aweful. They look much better with out them.

I have seen 2 07' Avs in person (this afternoon actually) and I can tell you that they have NO boddy cladding. They also redid the trim levels on them. You can now order an LTZ model. I'll try to snap a couple photos here pretty soon.

Can't tell from the picture, but it's a pretty good scrape/dent. Panel is bent in. It was a low tree limb when I was going off roading. I thought I was tall enough and/or it would move.

 

Pretty sure could have been saved by plastic.

With my luck I would of cracked the plastic, or ripped it off the door.

The Cladding is what made it the Avalanche, without it the truck looks rather boring.

No cladding, but they may start offering black matte unpainted plastic fenders and rear quarter panels, just like on Honda Element.

I totally disagree! What made the Avalanche is the fact that it's a truck built on a Suburban chassis, that you have total access to the bed from the cabin, all the storage space, etc. The cladding was just an ugly, unecessary addition. As far as it looking boring without it, that's another area where we'll have to agree to disagree. The cladding is hard to clean whereas the painted panels will clean up nicely. That's just my $.02.

In my opinion, having the option for no cladding was the best move GM made regarding the Avalanche. I thought it looked cheap, but for each his own. I have found no indication it will be available for the '07s.

Agree 100% that cladding is and was pittifull looking and made that truck look butt ugly!Find one in another 6-10 years and im willing to bet that plastic will be in horrible condition making the truck look even worse!

I liked the plastic, with out it the truck looks naked. As for the 07's they look OK with out it. While the idea is really a versatile idea, I wonder what percentage of owners actually use that mid-gate.
