I have a 2007 denali xl 6.2 380hp same motor in caddy is 405hp, does anyone know where 25hp is? Feels good now, but 25hp more would be better.

Your guess's were logical, but I think I found the difference.

I went to GM Powertranes website and compared them. If look like it was just a "slight of hand" of the dyno runs. Both were SAE procedure verified runs. The Caddy was measured at 5700 rpm and the Denali at 5500 RPM. I am not putting a lot of stock in it because both engines put out the torque - 417 ft pounds. but at a difference of 100 RPM.

I will take the similar torque numbers as a high probability that these two are going to run the same getting out of the hole and once I get my speed limiter adjusted, will make no difference up top either. The caddy is going to be much heavier , so, I would line up my 08 Denali against the Escalade any day.

Also, when they made the graph, they used different graph parameters to make them look remarkably different when acutual they are close. It appears the Caddy was allowed to rev 200 RPM higher (thus the 20+ HP) . So, tomorrow I will check my tach and see when the Denali hits the rev limiter.

Just a bunch on Marketing hype it appears, so the caddy engine will look like yuare getting more for your money. Kind of like they did the GTO LS2 a few below the Vette so the Vette guys did not come unglued ( I had and 03, 04, and 07)

So back to the ECM comment, that could be the whole issue, allow more revs on the Caddy
