FYI- gm has a new i-shaft assembly now for the famous clunk noise, They no longer recommend lubing or stroking your shafts now. It has a nylon insert installed in place of the lube.

Is this something the do-it-yourselfer can do? I have a 2003 Tahoe with this issue and from what I read it looks involved for my Tahoe. Mine has the adjustable foot pedals and it is supposed to be unbolted from the firewall and moved out of the way. Also some kind of pin is needed to lock the steering wheel in place because they did away with the steering wheel locks in 2003.

Thanks!!!

Where did you get this info from? I have been dealing with this problem now for 3 re-greasers. Tired of it. If this is true, It'll be a huge relief on my part. Can you provide the link if its on the net? Thanks
