howdy! my name is britt and i drive a 1982 gmc seirra with a built corvette motor,5.7 or 350 how ever you want to put it. im from xenia,ohio and wanted to make myself known. im a autobody tech and love to wrench on anything in front of me. i know alot about body work and a smidgin' about mechanics. im a country girl and also have a 500cc scrambler 4wheeler. i would love any imput on my truck.keep in mind it has a bigger cam,bigger injectors, its bored over to 355,its ported out,has a chip,aftermarket intake,and a couple other things blah blah blah.oh yeah,it has a 350 turbo tranny. any q's? id be glad to answer!

Welcome :)

 

 

i dont have any pics,but trust me the truck aint that sexy.its primer. with some rust,lol. its a reg cab long bed,2wd.im sure you can picture it. it will be worked on this spring and summer,but as of right now,the motor is the only thing done.

Have you ran it at the track there yet?

 

 

 

not yet, when i got it,it wouldnt run and i had to replace the brake lines. by the time i got it tuned the way i wanted it,the track was closed for the year and it aint opened back up yet. so i cant tell ya what it runs. but i will let ya know when i do run it.

Britt, first of all, welcome to GM-TC. It's always nice to see the female side interested in vehicles like the male side is.

 

That said, I am going to edit your user info to remove the link for Your Website. I'm sorry but something like that is not appropriate for this site and will not be tolerated. He's talking about your Myspace page, more specifically, your rather explicit username there.

 

We try to keep this a family friendly, and work-safe site. So our rule is basically nothing above PG-13 content.

 

There's no need to feel hurt, I'm willing to chalk it up to an honest mistake, and I'm sure Frank is too. :confused:

      Hey everyone, I recently had an issue with my 07 2500HD GMT900. My DRL’s stay on at all times. Right front turn and right mirror turn signal indicator stay on solid at all times. By “at all times” I mean the only way to make them go off is disconnecting the battery. I tore the headlight assemblies out, tried disconnecting the harnesses to eliminate bad wiring at the harness, I unplugged the headlight switch, no change and the mirror turn signal still stayed on. My first thoughts were : Bad bulb and/or socket somewhere, under hood fuse panel bad, bcm bad, tail light or trailer wiring problem, or some random short to power in the harness.  Possibly a bad ground but unlikely. I had a big clue in the fuse panel, it had a burnt smell. I started pulling every fuse that had to do with DRL or right turn/park lamp. Nothing made the right directional turn off but pulling the DRL2 fuse made the DRL’s go out.  After studying wiring diagrams, I found that both problems had that fuse panel in common, the bcm also controls both problems but knowing the fuse panel had a burnt smell I removed and disassembled the fuse panel and found a little corrosion on the printed circuit board.  I ordered a new fuse panel from Amazon for like $260. When it arrived I installed it, and put everything back together, the problem was fixed. I figured the fuse panel needed to be replaced anyway so that was a logical place to start. Hopefully this story helps someone in the future. Regretfully I didn’t scan for codes before I did everything.

      That stinks. I’m sitting on the side of the road right now with the same issue. Never had an issue before taking it in for the ground strap recall. Now I’m outside of warranty and they’ll probably want $200 just to diagnose what they already “fixed”.

After you factor in “out of warranty” service work and new car sales when these engines fail before their time, it’s a good racket for them. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you!
