A/c Recharge

My dad needs to recharge his a/c on his '01 Silverado and there are two nozzles on one line, one closer to the accumulator and the one closer to the compressor. Which is the high side nozzle?

I did it last summer and I can not remeber but I did find this on the net hope it helps if not I'll look tommorow-

 

There is a low-pressure side and a high-pressure side to every A/C system. You can identify the low side as its lines lead from the evaporator to the compressor. They are typically fatter than the high side lines. On vehicles with R-134a refrigerant systems, the fittings are different sizes with the low side being the smaller of the two.

So it sounds like the low side is first nozzle coming from the accumulator.

The connection should only fit one of the nozzles. They are two different sizes, and easy to distinguish.

There is an easy way to tell which is the high side and which is the low...the low side is cold and the high side is hot.....

If you need a re-charge not just a little to completely fill the system you will need to evacuate all air out and re-charge.
