Tonneau Cover And Rail Bars

I used to have a back rack on my old truck and would like one on my new GMC, but I know you cant have a tonneau cover with one. So i think I am going to go with a soft tonneau cover and some bed rails. I had heard "Access" Brand was good I think!?

 

What is every one putting on thier trucks for tonneau covers and bed rails. I am looking for rails that I can trap stuff too as well..

Access cover and Putco SSTL bed rails for me (sig pic needs updating since I recently added Putco rails). The Putco rails come with or without the slots in the end pieces for tying stuff down.

 

I recommend both, especially the Access brand cover.

I have an Access Lorado cover with Putco Stainless Steel rails. See my pic below... you can sortof see em there. I can send ya a better pic if needed. I like the setup.

Std Access (not the Laredo). I did not want to take a chance with the lower profile ones since I had such great luck with the steeper angled velcro rails on my last one. Seems like the steeper angle will hold tighter, but I don't know that for sure. I just know I liked my last one and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I don't care about it sticking up an extra 1/2" or so, the bed rails disguise it well anyway.

I have the GM bed rails and Truxedo LoPro Tonneau cover. I Like both. The GM bedrails are thicker than the Putco rails and are 1 piece per side instead of 3. I had the Putco before, but the price has really changed and I didn't want to spend that again for visual enhancement. I like the way the Putco rails mount to the bed better than the GM rails. The Putco rails can be tightenend very tight without distorting the mounting area. The GM rails tighten to the opening under the stake pockets on the inside of the bed. If you tighten them so tight the rails won't move, you compressed the inside of the bed and dented it.

 

Like I said, I like both rails, but really like the Truxedo LoPro.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Truxedo covers. The Putco rails are a little pricey but they are well designed and I feel like they were worth the extra money. They look really good on the truck. (if you are a bed rail guy that is)
