Seafoam Deep Creep

Seafoam has released information that they are introducing a 24" straw to be used with their Deep Creep aerosol to help in the cleaning of intake systems. The straw will be closed at the very end with 4 small holes around the sides of the straw near the end. This can be inserted deep into the intake with the engine off to clean the runners.

I know many people have had great success using Seafoam and this should help to get the Deep Creep deep into the intake.

I have not seen a part # yet but will post it once they release it.

I would not think you would need to consider this until you had 30K or more on the truck. The intake runners supposedly get dirty just like what you see inside your TB. It is said this build up can affect performance.

The DC with the long straw is used to reach into the runners to clean this gunk off. You would remove the boot from the TB, open the butterfly and insert the straw all the way to the back. You spray and pull it out a little, spray and pull, spray and pull. Let the DC soak in the intake for a few minutes, crank it up and drive it. It will smoke like crazy as it burns the DC and the gunk.

Most plastic intakes are teflon coated inside. Seafoam states that their DC will not harm this coating.

Some people say you need to change your plugs after doing this and others say it is not necessary. When you get ready to do it, wait until it is time to change your oil. Then after you have completed the intake cleaning, drive it and come back and change the oil. This will remove any gunk that may have made it into your oil.
