Can I Install A 2005 Nav Radio In A 2003 Denali?

I used the search function but came up with nothing. I want to put a touch screen nav radio in my 2003 denali. My question is this, do I loose anything? I have the 6 disk in dash changer and the rear controls and the steering wheel controls. I was going to put an aftermarket nav unit in however i would loose most of the function with those radios. Thanks for the input. BTW I have the factory cd NON navigation system right now.

I'm not sure, but I think there was some kind of internal electronic change to the 04+ trucks.

I think ya can, but look in the glove box label and see if you have option y91 or y92 if you do you have a Luxury audio system. If you don't you have a Premium system you will need to know this. I have a 03 Avalanche and put a 05 Touchscreen in mine.

 

You will need the GPS Antenna and a nav disc also and you will have to make sure it is unlocked

yes it is a denali so it has the factory upgraded bose system with the lux amp. so the radio for the y91-y92 option is the one i need, I don't care if it is unlocked my father n law has the tech II so he can link it to my vin and all that good stuff, my main concern is that i want to know if it will still work with my factory 6 disk changer, rear radio controls and steering wheel control. If it wasn't for that I'd just go aftermarket and get a pioneer Z2 or D3 but i don't want to loose the factory changer or the rear seat controls.............

All of your steering wheel controls and rear audio controls will still work. As far as the 6 CD changer working, I am iffy on that. I haver seen it done, but with significant mods, but these were Tahoes and Yukons that did not have the lower 6 cd changer already.

Just make sure you have that y91-y92 not all denali came with it, if you do you won't lose anything works just fine.

 

Actually mine came with a Prem system and I upgrade to the lux system by changing the HU and Amp and repinned the console wiring harness
