looking at some plastic repair/building material to fill the hole, sand and retrxture the material and it cant be

  • Polyethylene (PE)
  • Polypropylene (PP)
  • Thermo Plastic Olefin (TPO)
  • Thermo Elastic Olefin (TEO)

Any thoughts

so does this mean I can just unscrew my antenna and call it good? why are people putting these horizontally in their engine bays?

 

To maintain FM reception. AM is gonna be hosed though because it requires a vertical antenna.

i know this is an old thread, not sure if anyone has figured out what to do for best appearance on the plastic cap but heres what i did

laying around in the toolbox somewhere. but im sure i got it from napa

 

like chupe442 said pretty much any automotive store would have these

 

the shorter the lenght is the better. but you can always trim the length too.

any longer than 1/4 inch and it hits the antenna mount stud (it is siliconed on the backside to hold it in anyways)

You can have a vertical antenna if you just drop the antenna straight down next to its three cornered attachment. a short piece of hardware store hole strap cut to fit will hold antenna upside down quite nicely; same hardware as in original post, just not with wire and connectors.
