BigBlueLB756 Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 It's a combination of antenna from the source I listed above and a bottom mount from these guys: http://www.shortyantennasource.com/store/i...Path=2_23_65_67 http://www.carccessory.com/product/stubby-antenna/i-series I just didn't like the way that antenna looked, so I combined the two. Thanks.

TheGreekIndian Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 so does this mean I can just unscrew my antenna and call it good? why are people putting these horizontally in their engine bays?
reidrhollander Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 so does this mean I can just unscrew my antenna and call it good? why are people putting these horizontally in their engine bays? To maintain FM reception. AM is gonna be hosed though because it requires a vertical antenna.
NickB Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 i know this is an old thread, not sure if anyone has figured out what to do for best appearance on the plastic cap but heres what i did
Jackseric Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 i know this is an old thread, not sure if anyone has figured out what to do for best appearance on the plastic cap but heres what i did That looks good. Where did you get the plug?
chupe442 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Oreilly's or any auto shop would carry these...
NickB Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 That looks good. Where did you get the plug? laying around in the toolbox somewhere. but im sure i got it from napa like chupe442 said pretty much any automotive store would have these the shorter the lenght is the better. but you can always trim the length too. any longer than 1/4 inch and it hits the antenna mount stud (it is siliconed on the backside to hold it in anyways)
silverSC Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 You can have a vertical antenna if you just drop the antenna straight down next to its three cornered attachment. a short piece of hardware store hole strap cut to fit will hold antenna upside down quite nicely; same hardware as in original post, just not with wire and connectors.
GLSierra13 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Definitely going to do this mod. I almost always listen to XM anyway.
