So, I Think Tomorrow Is Deal-time !

Hello guys ! It's looking like tomorrow might be the time to pick up a 2008 Sierra. Here's the deal on one...see what you guys think...

2008 GMC Sierra Extended Cab, 4x4, BLACK

SLE-1 Trim Level

Power Pack Package

--5.3, limites slip rear axle,h.d. trailering equipment,17 inch alloy wheels

E-Z Lift Locking Tailgate

Preferred Package

--Remote Start,Power Adj. Pedals,Rear Park Assist

As you can see, not a Z71 truck, not a SLE-2 truck.

To me, it has the "right" number of options. I could always add a console if needed, and I look forward to doing a steering wheel control add on!

I've owned black / dark blue colors before...they keep me busy !!

OK...now here's prices

MSRP 32,710

GM EMPLOYEE PRICE (my price) 29,073

NATL REBATE -2000

GM LOYALTY -1000

So, we are at 26,073

THEN, there is holdback money. I'm sure I can knock off another 1000 dollars if I try really hard. That would bring it to 25,073.

THEN, I have my trade. 2006 SLE2 Sierra Ext Cab Z71, with only 6400 miles on it.

It looks like I could move up 2 years, and drop 6400 miles for maybe $2500 to $3000.

Opinions ???

$26,073 looks fair to me, but let them rape you on your trade.

edit: i meant DON'T let them rape you on your trade.

Definitely yes...

I can easily get in the $22k to $23k area...or I just walk away from the whole thing.

We are hurting so bad for sales right now...they'd be fools not to jump on it...

oh yea, my mom just traded her 05 suberban with 32000 miles for about 20,000

If its a GM employee deal (GMS) you should know the deal and expect

dead flat wholesale for your trade !

Holdback? The dealer won't give you a dime of it !

On a GM employee deal the dealer is paid a flat fee from GM for

carrying and selling the vehicle to you. You are already paying less

than invoice minus rebates of course.

Yes there is currently a $1000 addl. GM loyalty bonus (if you currently

own a GM). Also there is a $500 or $1000 bonus if you have a GM

family first card.............geo

He's right, I just did this EXACT deal, except I got the 0% for an 07, and had to sell my 04, they offered me 6K less than what I sold it for...

What's a GM family first card?

What's a GM family first card?

That is the GM credit card that earns 1% on all purchases. Your earnings can be used toward a qualified new GM vehicle in addition to Employee and Supplier pricing.

Yes there is a military discount, contractor upfitter discount and several

others.....................

BUT !!!!!!!!!!!! Some of these "other" rebates are NOT "stackable" and

cannot be combined with certain other rebates on a GMS deal............................

The GM family first card is just another GM mastercard for GM employees/

retirees/family members. A GM employee/family member cannot use the

regular 5% GM card points on a GMS deal. They are forced to get and use

the GM familyfirst card and only get a measly 1% to use on a new GMS

vehicle purchase.............geo

UPDATE...

Deal never happened. In fact, the dealership doesn't even know I was even CONSIDERING a deal...

After a shower last night, I sit down to relax. Then...it pops in my head. BANG.

After a few 4-letterd words came out of my mouth, I realized the truck I listed on here now has a stupid lift kit and a bunch of other garbage added on. Also, with a $10k markup on price. DANG.

Sure is funny how that kinda stuff just "pops" in the head, right??

As far as a previous post concerning trade value, GMS, etc...

Here's my last truck purchase from my employer

I moved into an 06 loaded SLE2 Z71 Ext Cab Sierra 1500, and I traded in my 01 Silverado 1500 Ext Cab 4x4 with 106k miles on it. Trade value was $10,500 all day long. Owner of store gave me $12,500 for it. And he gave me the new 06 with every rebate he could throw at it, MINUS holdback. I have all the paperwork to prove it.

Plus, it took me 9 weeks of haggling to do the deal. Well worth it.

Dealers who sell below cost do not stay in business long. I worked in a Dealership 3 times and Iv'e never seen it done.
