Check this deal out fellas...

FWIW, I know many of you have seen me post alot about moving into an 08 Sierra Ext Cab recently...

Ok. About 10 days ago at the dealership, we get a 2008 SLE2 Sierra Ext Cab 4x4 on a dealer trade. I sorta "walk around the truck, sorta check it out" after it arrives. But, then it get parked in the "SOLD" row later in the day. Dang it.

Fast forward to today, after work. I walk up to my General Manager's office, and sit and talk to him for awhile. We've been excellent friends / co-workers for the pas 18 years. I actually started talking to him on a 2008 Yukon 2wd that has been on the lot since August. But, then we discussed what a 2wd Yukon would be worth in a year, and I quickly turned that subject to "off."

We then talk extensively about rebates, and we are close to Chicago auto show, and there are actually MANY rebates to be had right now. And then, I actually chose to get back on the subject of pickups, not SUV's.

And, as luck would have it, the Sierra is NOT sold after all.

Here's the deal, most likely will happen Sat am...

2008 Sierra, SLE-2 loaded, 245 miles on it (dealer-trade), black ebony uplevel cloth interior, STEALTH GRAY (I know Daddy will LOVE this....) no garbage "add-ons" as I like to call them.

Original MSRP $33,400

OK...here's where it gets tricky

My GM Employee price $29,790

My General Manager threw in every rebate he could, which brings it to $23,790

Then they are giving me EXTRA CLEAN trade money for my 2006 Sierra SLE-2 Ext Cab 4x4

Which brings the trade difference down to ...

Wait...

OK...

A difference of

$3700.

Move up 2 years to a brand new Sierra

for $3700.

Should I do it??????????

If that is what makes you comfortable, I know I would.....but that is me...that is if you can live with it....

Drive the truck and see if you like it more than your old one. See if the AFM system is as smooth as many claim it is. You will have to live with it. $ 3700 is a really good deal to jump ahead two years. The new truck will be worth that much more in two years.

I'd say go for it. I know that you've been looking at getting a new truck for a while now, and it seems as though you've found a very good deal. If you have the money then do it! Sometimes you have to just stop over-analyzing things and jump in. You almost certainly won't regret it

6 votes. Do it, you dummy

0 votes. Hold on to the '06

I think you should hold onto the '06 and let one of us take the deal instead!

are you serious? dude that's like the deal of the century. even the price without trade is crazy cheap! I paid sticker price on a 07 gmt 900 2wd 4.8l GMC Sierra SL crewcab 27,000$ before tax and title. I want to hang myself when I read these kinda posts... 0.0 apr for 6 years so that's not that bad. I know I got hoed by the dealership but I'm young and its my first new truck... live and u learn I guess......buy the d**n truck.

My 3 biggest regrets so far on my 07..

1. I should have gotton the crew cab, the ext cab is smaller then the ext cab on my old 99

2. I should have gotton the Vortec Max instead of the 5.3L

3. I probably should not have gotton black!

But I still love the truck none the less.
