Nbs Graystone W/ Black Wheels

Hey everybody. I'm looking at trading my 06 Z71 for an 08 Graystone Z71. I was wondering how this color would look with black or black/chrome rims. Any opinions would be appreciated. Pics would be even better. :)

Hey Frank the Tank - Thanks. I can't afford the 22's but that sure gives me an idea of how it will look. I'm thinking about keeping the stock tires for now and just putting some 17x8's on. Nice ride!

Don't have that set-up but black wheels will look great with the grey colors.

WIth the right setup they look good. I'd recommend at least a polished lip like Franks (or gunmetal wheels with polished rim like mine!)

sorry my pics are crappy cellphone pics aswell. Its an 08 with 20x8.5s with 33" ProComp Extreme ATs. 2" leveling kit is the only suspension mod

for obvious reasons i am gonna play favorites here and give my opinons but i like the look of a polished lip with low profile tires, if you are going to be putting meat on there, ditch the lip IMO.

Also, The Rod, If you are going with a 17" wheel, a big aggressive tire is half of the look. Have you considered just painting or powerdercoating the stock wheels black for now??? It would save some money, and you could see how you like the look, and then you could continue to save the money up until you can get a really killer setup either something big like 22s or maybe 18s or 20s with some meat on em. Again just my opinion and a possible suggestion

Thanks guys. Man this site is great! :D Nice ride Steve! The more graystone trucks I see, the more I like them. The black wheels just give it a bada$$ look. The dealer talked like he would give me a pretty good price for the stock wheels and tires if they didn't have any miles on them, so I may just trade them in.

Maybe you all could give me some advice on this......I am really concerned about gas mileage. I cranked the t-bars up on my 06 and I'm running 285's. I love the look, but hate the mileage. I've been hearing some pretty good mileage numbers from completely stock 5.3 z71 trucks. If I level a new one and go with the biggger meats, is it going to kill my mileage? How will stock size tires look on aftermarket rims? My 06 has 3:42 gears and the new one will probably have 3:73. That should help a little. Any advice will help.

P.S. - Please skip the "If you're worried about gas mileage, get a geo!" comments

Thanks again!

Well I have the ext. cab with the 5.3 and 3.73s and when it had the stock rollers on it I was getting about 18mpg, and that was probably 60%highway 40% city driving.

That was also with me babying it and actually going as light as possible on the pedal in order to keep it in 4cylinder mode. (I only ran 1.5 tanks through the truck with the stock wheels, so I only got 1 actual average, I did the math myself with mileage for an actual figure)

You will DEF lose mileage with wider and heavier tires, but If you get a Z-71 those tires will look OK with some wheels, but if you dont get a z-71 the tires are sad looking so that wont be an option.

Roger that. That 18 MPG sounds pretty good for my only vehicle. I might go with some stock size tires, but more aggressive, on some 17x8 or 17x8.5 rims. I think that would look pretty good.

Anyone else with black or black/chrome wheels and close to stock size tires, feel free to chime in.

Heck, anybody chime in. The more input the better.

Thanks!
