Bluetooth Options For 2008 Silverado

I used mapquest directions on my 2007 for several trips. I downloaded the directions to onstar and when I needed it, I recalled them...Worked slick, except you do need an active onstar account to use it.

Do you have Navigation Radio?......I was wondering if you get the XM Nav Traffic downloads as well?....my 2007 Yukon Denali has same config as yours but apparently I need an upgrade to get the XM Nav Traffic. No one seems to know if that upgrade is software or hardware, including XM Customer Service Staff.

I do not the have XM Nav Traffic feature. Sorry, not much help.

I looked into a Scosche system and all the others including the Lockpick, Parrot, etc. I've bought several rechargeable visor mounted Bluetooth systems. My truck still has 70-80 minutes of trial time on the verizon built-in phone. It's a pain to use. It misses the numbers on the voice dialing nearly every time I use it no matter how I speak.

I gave up on the whole idea of getting a bluetooth system that uses the radio. $300-400 is just rediculous to me to make a few phone calls. Recently, I recieved a Garmin GPS with a bluetooth interface. I've been using it lately and it's been pretty reliable and easy to use.

Find a VCIM used, usually around $100, sometimes the antenna is on there already, and you really don't need the steering wheel switches. So under $150 you can have factory bluetooth. Just being patient to find one used is the issue.

Ok; installed the VCIM/antenna no sweat. However, it doesn't look like the truck knows it now has bluetooth. I didn't think I needed to Tech2 it unless I wanted to update the OnStar. Any ideas??

You press the "button" and it says something to you, and you say "bluetooth" and it should reply. If not, then something's wrong. Mine did that immediately.

You press the "button" and it says something to you, and you say "bluetooth" and it should reply. If not, then something's wrong. Mine did that immediately.

Actually you hit the phone button on the steering wheel (middle button on right hand), it will say ready or something like that, then you have to say Onstar (don't ask me why), then say Bluetooth.

mine was absolutely not like that. I press that button and the onstar voice comes on and you say "bluetooth", or you can say one of the other, many, onstar commands.

When I say "Bluetooth" It does not recognize the word. However, the right Onstar LED is now red...

Mine is red as well. Say Onstar first and see if that works.

Red light is fine as long as you don't care about Onstar working.
