So it now comes down to where do we get vcim 20783877? I, like many others in this chain, want only the bluetooth functionality. So if anyone figures out where to get the vcim, please share with this group. PS, I received my antenna from gmpartsdirect.com this week so now I only need the vcim. Cheers.

I ordered my parts from GMPartsCheap.com and they say they are shipping the VCIM #20783877, they will also ship the antenna #15938939, but they say the steering wheel switchs are out of stock. Can anyone advise if they have these switches available at their dealer because I will order them.

Does anyone have the tech2 programming instructions because my friend at the dealership is willing to do it but doesnt know what to look for.

Please let us know when you receive the vcim. I was told several times with gmpartsdirect.com that is was on order but two months later they said the manufacture would not release. You probably already know this but you do not need the steering switch as the original 07 will work. The only difference is the picture printed on the button. Good luck.

Bad News...just got called by GMPartsCheap.com sales rep. He says the GM parts contact would not release the VCIM and wanted to know how he found out about it. Apparently was somewhat aggressive and stated releasing this VCIM is a breach of OnStar policy and would only happen if he produced a dealership work order and 09 VIN.

They are on to us!

Apparently an official retrokit for 07/08 GMT900 trucks is coming shortly

So if you got a VCIM then your very lucky!

There may be some licensing restriction imposed on GM by OnStar but I should not have to worry about that now...I managed to find a used one (4 miles on the wrecked vehicle) on my good friend eBay. It was shipped today and should have in a week or so. BTW, there's one more listed with a buy-it-now price of $100. If interested, just search by the part number 20783877. Good luck. I will let the group know how it works out - only looking for bluetooth functionality - onstar not worth the payment.

Got the VCIM today from the ebay seller!!! Gonna pickup the antenna from the dealer tomorrow. Does the antenna just plug into the VCIM or do you have to route it to another location in the truck?

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
