Hard To Start When Wet / Damp Out

My Yukon has been hard to start a few times after it had rained out. The 1st time this happened, it had sat for a week and had rained hard a few days. After putting wire dry on all of the wires, it still wouldn't start, so I let it sit for a day with the hood open and it started up. However, when cranking, it cranks normal but then pauses for a second and then cranks normaly again(only when its wet out). I was thinking of cleaning the wires on the starter but I am now wondering if I should take the starter out and have it tested. it did start hard after I had washed it. I have not had problems when it is dry out.

Any ideas would be great.

I'm not familiar with the older 350's, but if they have a distributor, change the cap and maybe the wires....you'll probably find the cap wet/rusted inside.
