Top Brakelight Is Out On 05 Tahoe

No screws externally visible. Open hatch and see rubber gasket , but not sure how to get inside. Suggestions?

There are no bulbs. They are LEDs. The entire unit has to be replaced. I hope you're under warranty, cause they aren't cheap. I've had mine replaced twice under warranty already. The dealer swears it's not a common problem.

It was suggested to me that LEDs don't burn out as fast (or even at all) as bulbs, so it may be an electrical problem rather than a light bar problem. Anyone have any knowledge of a wiring fix for the LED 3rd brake light on a 05 Tahoe Z71?

the good quality LEDs are the ones that dont burn out for a long time. I believe that GM started using a cheap made LED that is simply done to light up and then burn out after several years. The LEDs that they put in the old 1994 GMC Safari EXT van still light up (even though the engine is long dead). you might be better off finding an aftermarket one that is build with rugged, high quality LEDs.
