Got Spray In Liner Done

Got it done at Universal Spray in Liners. http://www.sprayinliners.com/

I was a little concerned being that it was a local company (ie not a brand name like LineX). They were about the same price but i was told by a friend who worked at a GMC dealership that Universal was the only spray in that his dealership would use and that pretty much all dealerships in the area use them.

The one plus is that Universal is blended right here in Phoenix. So they should know what kind of sun we get here, one would think it would have superior UV protection.

I have to say. So far im really happy with their work. I talked to the onwer for about 45 minutes while the truck was getting done. He let me poke my head back and watch them spray the truck for a few and explained all about how they blend different then the competition for our enviroment out here...im really happy on how it turned out...my truck seems quieter now too.

Of course we'll see how it holds up over time, but so far im really pleased :uhoh:

Looks great. I want to get a Line-X with some of those metallic flakes for my truck. So your truck is noticeably quieter?

It def sounds quieter to me...prolly going to think im nuts, but i could feel the weight too... Honestly my truck feels like it drives better with it. I have no idea how much weight it added to the truck. The owner did tell me each liner is over 5 gallons of material..

maybe its in my head...but i swear i could tell the difference when i pulled out...going over bumps now feels slightly smoother and quieter..

Damn, that looks pretty good. Just as good, if not better then my Line-X. Do they offer a lifetime warranty as well?

I have been wanting Line-X also but I am not sure if I want to go over the rail or not?? Why did you not go over the rail? I think I want to buy bed rail covers and just spray the bed.

Thanks

Mike

Hey!!! Don't you know spray in liners suck??? Our resident bed liner expert "sonjaab" said so!!!

Looks great! As long as they have a lifetime warranty like Line-X, I wouldn't worry about the quality.

Yes they do...i dont think i would have gotten it if it didn't. They have been in business for like 13 years too..

Mike,

Thats exactly what im doing. I have the bed rail covers on order right now along with a tonneau. My reasoning behind not getting the rails sprayed is that

1) I had never seen this companys work other then in the pics on their website. So i figured i would wait till i got to the place, and take a look in person what kinda job they did. It would have cost me $50 more, and the entire lobby area of their store is sprayed in this stuff. I mean everything, the floor, furniture, tonka trucks, hehe everything! So at that point i knew they did good work, but i also hadnt seen what it looks like on a NBS and i was a little afraid i wouldnt end up liking it. So i had to make up my mind quickly and i went the safe route. Im a bit of a perfectionist and having a slight bent line or a little bit of run off would drive me nuts!

2) I live in phoenix, and here we get liek 320 days of sunshine a year. (where im originally from in MI, they get like 90 days of sunshine a year) So stuff takes a beating on the sun and smooth plastic rail caps is much easier to spray and wipe down 303 protectant then this rough liner is! The bed rail caps will be easier to keep looking nice and shiny black :uhoh:

3) I figured plastic rail caps would be stiffer and offer more protection to distribute a heavy load dropped on the rail. While im actually quite impressed with how thick and stiff the liner is (he had chunks to play with in the office) i still think the ABS bed rail will probably offer a little bit more protection, and if it gets scraped to hell or i dont like hte look of it, i can rip it off

He also told me if i changed my mind and wanted the rails done at a later date its no problem just bring it back in...

The spray in liner on my '04 Silverado was done as a color match for the Sport Red paint. I love the fact that it ISN'T black.

It is one of the top 3 accessories for my truck. I'm a contractor, and the liner takes a beating, and still looks as good as the day it was done. Mine was done by a local firm, who is not one of the national names.

In the picture, I have a piece of carpeting in the bed, as I had been hauling a 6 foot long mirror in the bed the day before.

You old ladies are soooo funny!

I will just wait and a few months from now just snicker when the

snivel posts appear.....................

You know the ones like "my spray in faded, peeled, cracked or

it didn't protect my bed from getting all dented!"

Just like the 100s of other spray in complaint posts....................

But YOU cheerleaders will be here to hold hands and pray to the

snakeoil gods........................
