Try some Chevron Techron (the full concentrate product) in it at 1 oz per gallon. If it does not correct the issue in two tanks you will be out about $20.00 bucks and will have the cleanest valves, injectors and comb chambers in town. It is a great product and will cure this problem a lot of the time.

nahh its no problem. you just got a visit from the gas fairy. they come and give you random tank fills at night.

but no seriously just drive it till u know you're close to empty from the mileage, or just wait for that annoying sputtering of the engine. thats when you know you're close.

Really, really common issue. Mine gets stuck on empty most of the time lol.

Mine seems to be stuck on empty quite often too!!!

I'l give you a serious answer since the S/N ratio around here has gone to sh!t recently.

It's probably the sending unit but I'd try the fuel system cleaner as suggested first b/c I think the sender is not a cheap fix (over $400 at the dealer, drain and drop the tank, etc...)

There is a recall on this problem. I got a letter from Chevrolet a while back saying that the fuel needle on my 03' Silverado is prone to sticking and the guage cluster needs to be replaced. I am pretty sure it is the same cluster used in your Yukon.

Click on Tech Wiki on top of page. It's there.

Now here's the catch. Go to the dealer where you bought it. (if you did buy it there) and explain your problem. I suggest you print out the document from tech wiki and take it there.

If they say it is past warranty, Politely, Say thanks and call Chevy customer Service 800 number. Be nice to them also. I got mine replaced for the speedo problem for free with 100,000 miles on my 2003. Good Luck

I have the most problems when my tank is full. The gauge will bounce everywhere for a bit then settle on empty and finally spring back to full where it should be.

Fuel cleaner is not going to help. I think there is TSB on it.

It may not help this case but it helps a lot of them. If the problem is build up on the sender, Techron is designed to remove it. If it does not work, he is out about $20.00 and has a really clean fuel system.
