Rear Wheel Well Liners On 08 Silverado

My First post here, I am new to this forum. I had a 74 GMC for years that I restroed, it evetually rusted away again. I now have a 2008 silverado WT 4x4 with a 4.3L. Now, for the rear wheel wells, They have these liners available, Part#19166676 Does anyone have these on their truck? If so, did they install them or have someone do it? I have a set of bushwacker fender flares coming, I am just wondering if I get these liners, will it be a porblem installing them with the flares? I am also considering just spraying the wheel wells. Would be cheaper and probably look just as good. Thanks for any advice. Pat

Here's a link to a write up that a member did on the installation of the liners on his truck.

There are lots of discussions here if you use the search option.

I installed mine in about 10 minutes. I left the wheels on and just slid them in and popped them in place. I didn't use the screws to hold mine in. Just the clips that fasten them to the fender lips.

Welcome to the site and hope you enjoy your new truck.

I have them on my 08. My motorcycle paint guy and I sprayed them first with spray bedliner I believe, then we put the wheel well liners on. I figured it would alleviate some rust issues with salt getting stuck up against the metal.

Yeah I think thats the way to do it and have them sprayed first as you said. Everybody talks about the plastic bed liners rubbing the paint off in the bed and rusting I would imagine these will do the same in the wells.

Not as much as a bedliner, as nothing should really be moving in the wheelwells...A bedliner rubs against the bed because as you load and unload stuff, it moves the liner around a bit, which adds up over time. The only problem I'd see with the wheel ones is that if you get crap up in there from salt roads, offroading, and general unpaved surfaces it can rust.

I do like the idea of using a bedliner material to coat it first then put the covers on, but of course I'd probably just spray it and leave it, same result.

Well, that sort of narrows it down for me, I have the Bushwacker Fender flares, Have not taken them out of the box yet but I did download the directions. They require using the lip of the fender, just like these liners require, I sort of think the two may not go hand in hand. But I do like the looks of the liners. Time will tell I guess, thanks to everyone for your responses. Very helpful, have a great day, Pat

I just installed them on my 2008. The colder the temp the more of a pain to install though so make sure to warm them up first. Its was in the 40°'s and I had a hard time getting them in with the wheels on but they did go. It did use the screws to secure them, right angle drill was needed to do that with wheels on.

I noticed the rear of the truck quieted down a lot.
