hey guys I was wanting to change out the gears in my truck and was thinking about the 4.10 gears... Can I get alittle feedback or info cause that's as far as my knowledge goes. I know they are called 4.10 gears but who makes them, are there a specific set of 4.10 gears that I need, etc... That kinds of stuff. Oh and as some of you already know I

Have the 2007 classic half ton Z71 with a 6 inch lift on 35's, I have the stock gears that came

With it(I could figure it out by finding the RPO, but I figured yall know what came stock in my truck). from looking before I believe I have in the lower 3 something but not sure. Thanks

It all depends on what your looking for really if you want better gas miliage go with a 4.10 gear ratio if your looking to go back to where the truck will think it is stock go 4.56 and if your looking for more power you would want to go with like a 4.88 or 5.13 Theres a chart of it all regarding tire size and gear ratio here http://www.4lo.com/calc/geartable.htm I would recommend going to a shop to get it done unless your very very mechanically inclined(Gears are a little tricky). Gear brands that IMO are good are genuine gear and precision gear. I had a set of precision gear 4.88's in my 96 silverado with the same setup as yours and it ran like a beast and got crappy miliage however there was a noticable dfference in power...also i would suggest a locker for the rear end while your down there if you like to spin the tires or go mudding or climbing or anything like that. once again all this is just my opinion its your choice you know i would talk to a couple of shops about prices since that front end is a bitch to do.

for 35's I would stick with 4.56 for best all-around performance. I would also switch out the G80 for a detroit trutrac. Might as well while you are in there for your gears.

I would also say 4.56 max but your running 35s so I would go to the 4.11 unless your going to go bigger on the tire size. With 4.88s or 5.13s your going to be screaming the motor with 35" tires at highway speeds. Now if your going to the 38-40" tire size then the 4.88s or 5.13 would be better.

no he wouldn't. He would be right back in the power band 4.10's would put him with stock 30.5" tires.
