I keep getting the po455 code, and replaced the fuel cap. Hoses are tight and intact. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

What kind of vehicle are we working on? Some have had issues with air leaks in the filler neck hose.

Sorry, guess that would be helpful! Its a 2005 GMC Sierra 5.3L Z71

05 would probably be too new to have this problem. I think it was mostly with 97 and older GMT400 trucks. If you don't have a ton of miles, it should be under emissions warranty right? The evap system should qualify. Might make a dealer call and see. It could save you a lot of tail chasing.

Its a salvage truck with 49000, i dont think it still has a warranty?

Emissions warranty is pretty long. Ithink the basic emissions warranty is something like 5 years, 80K (anybody know exactly?)

I'd at least look into it. Can't hurt to ask.

To follow up, it was the Evap Canister Solenoid Valve. It was very easy to locate and replace.

Cool... At least it is fixed and it was something rather simple. Thanks for the update.

The part was $102 wholesale price and it was located right behind the fuel tank. It is an updated part and there is also a technical service bulletin that requires you to route the actual vent to a remote location. In addition to the solenoid valve, i needed some 5/8 heater hose and some hose clamps.
