Melco Or Delphi?

Getting ready to change the plugs & wires on my '03 1500. I'm trying to figure out whether I have the Delphi or Melco coils so I get the correct wires. I know you can tell a Delphi coil from a Melco coil by the stamping number. Question is: where is the stamping number?

I don't see a stamping number jumping out at me when I look at the coils. I can feel some raised lettering on the underneath side of the coil, right underneath where the wire plugs in, but I can't read it down there. I would rather not have to take a coil off just to figure out which brand it is... Anyone?

The coil numbers are stamped on the bottom of the coils. I used a small mirror to read the numbers and cross referenced them on the rockauto.com site which notes Melco or Delco for the coil part number. Look under the spark plug wire set section to find the coil references. You can use this even if you decide to buy non-ACDelco wires.

That's exactly what I needed! I cross-referenced the number on the coil and found out I have the Melco coils.

Thanks!
