Tail Gate Weight?

Does anyone know the weight of a 2003>2006 2500HD Silverado tail gate?

I'm putting a slide-in truck camper in the bed, and have to remove the gate without getting a hernia.

It's more awkward than heavy to do by yourself. I'm thinking about 30+ pounds.

Thanks, thats not so bad, I have a bad lower back, so I'll get the wife to help!

Plus you don't wanna drop it and scratch it. :dunno:

Disconnect the cable quick connectors with somebody holding it up. Tilt it so that the slotted end can be pulled up off of the hinge and you'll be surprised how light it is... especially with two people.

We did it this morning before the wife left for work. No problem, it does feel much heavier opening and closing it. This is my first pickup truck, and I love everything about it but the gas mileage.

That's the only thing about a truck not to like. I even like trying to park the thing. :withstupid:
