Tail Gate Weight?

Does anyone know the weight of a 2003>2006 2500HD Silverado tail gate?

 

I'm putting a slide-in truck camper in the bed, and have to remove the gate without getting a hernia.

Disconnect the cable quick connectors with somebody holding it up. Tilt it so that the slotted end can be pulled up off of the hinge and you'll be surprised how light it is... especially with two people.

It feels heavier opening and closing it than it actually is. With a bad back, I wouldn't chance anything though.

We did it this morning before the wife left for work. No problem, it does feel much heavier opening and closing it. This is my first pickup truck, and I love everything about it but the gas mileage.

My 2002 is about 50 pounds but it is sprayed with Linex.

I think it is closer to 60 lbs than 30.
