My wife just picked up a new 2008 Silverado LT2 Crew Cab 2WD 5.3L for me. I am currently working in Iraq and will be home on R&R in a couple of days. :lol:

 

I used a lot of info from this site before we purchsed this truck and it was very helpful. Thanks :D

Definately, I'm only home on R&R but I will probably order a bed cover and cat back exhaust before I come home for good in the summer. I'm researching the computer tune, but haven't made any decisions yet.

 

Any recomendations?

 

I've put a few miles on it in the last 10 days and really like it so far, but like everything else it could always use a little more power..... :D

First off...Welcome to the site!

 

Second...The tune...You'll get varying answers on where/who to go to for a mail order tune...But from what I've found, your absolutely best bet is to find somebody local that can do it. There are places all over the country that can. You'll also find that this is sometimes a better deal (and better tune for that matter) than even the BEST mail order ones.

 

I get a canned mail order tune for my GTO? $450 and up. It'll be a good tune, won't hurt the car, and it'll give me more power for sure. But I can a full on dyno tune for that locally, along with free updates as I mod the car. All from a very well respected tuner. I've got a couple of choices too (more if I'm willing to drive to Tulsa)...And I live in Oklahoma City, which isn't exactly a thriving metropolis or a hotbed of hot rod goodness.
