My 2 questions are I dont mind my dash being in miles and not kilometers but will everything still line up right. second I have the trans temp on my scan gauge but not in my cluster. will i just have an open spot with a dead needle if I get this one with trans temp or do I need to find one with out.thanks guys

I think I read on here somewhere that the connector for the tranny temp gauge was already in the dash. So you should be able to just hook it up and go.

There is only one hook up to the cluster. The temp wire is already in there.

right on just wanted to make sure the usa and canadian trucks were the same. Its my scrrw up anyways. I thought my empty one was the bottom right but that is my coolant. My empty one is the bottom left so its the same as the pic. I should of said it is only a white face and trim kit not a brand new cluster. just a few more pics of them. the one is of the white face and the other is of the led trim. i think it will look good and hopefully i can match the colour to my scan gauge.

I like the gauge face you chose! I was/am looking at a similar product for my 05 Z71. Let me explain what i found out about the trans cooler gauge.

I too, was looking to upgrade my cluster and wanted to add the trans temp gauge (since the truck is pre wired from the factory). It is true that the cluster is pre wired but you need to disassemble the entire cluster, add a stepper motor to the PCB (printed circuit board) by soldering it into the open slot on the PCB, reassmeble the cluster, add the gauge face and needle, THEN you have to take the truck to a GM dealer and have them TURN ON the gauge.

The only other FACTORY alterative is to purchase a cluster that already has a trans temp gauge installed and have it programmed to match your existing cluster (engine hours, miles etc). Several folks on ebay will do this for you for a lot less than a NEW factory cluster form GM.

Hope this helps!!

thanks john

i have a scan gauge 2 that reads my trans temp from the comp so no need for one. I was just concerned that i would get a gauge face and i would have a trans temp face plate but no needle. from the pics there looks like there is not one but i guess ill see when it gets here.

Hi

I recently insalled a new stepper motor for the trans. temp. gauge with a new overlay. Can anyone confirm that you need to take it to the dealer to "TURN ON" the gauge? My gauge isn't working and i'm sure it isn't the soldier joint. Just want to be sure before I head to the dealer and spend $$$ to turn it on. Also is it just a simple flash or reprogram? I don't know the difference or the pricing.

Thanks

Cheers

Is this an overlay or a complete Cluster replacement? If it's an overlay kit can you tell me where did you find it? I kinda like it but, I'd want it in a KM/Hr setup....

yeah it was an overlay kit. I found it on auto part warehouse.com though Idid not get it. after 3 weeks of "we will send it out tommorw" I finally had a rep tell me it was out of stock. then 5 phone calls and 2 weeks later i finally got my money back. I do not want to do any free advertisment for the company but I will let you know I had nothing but prob from when it was in stock and I ordered it, untill 5 weeks later when I got my money. and then a rep called me to asked how I liked the product 3 days ago. My opinion is that if you phone me to ask about a product that I did not even recieve dont tell me to calm down when you ask me how my order went.
