Looking for opinions on battery manufacturers for a replacement for my 2005 Sierra 5.3. Thanks in advance, Jake.

Any major brand will do the job and last for years. Stay away from the bargain store brands. You'll get many opinions but they will be worth exactly what you paid for them.

Do you have a preference? There are many good batteries out there.

Your location, environment and role of the battery will make a make a difference on what you need. With that in mind you will need to determine what battery will work for you in your environment/Element you are currently inn.. I have use all these over the years and have good successes with all of them.

DieHard

ACDELCO

Interstate Batteries

Exide

I would look at cost and warranty myself. 200 bucks for a battery is too high for me. I for one will not keep this truck when its over 5 years old. Just about the time the Ac delco craps out.

I plan to run mine into the ground...each has his own goals but good point.

Just as an FYI

Johnson Controls has shut the Aurora, CO Optima battery factory and moved manufacturing to Mexico.

No longer are they made in the USA.

Good at the searchin', not so good at making the title of the post relevant!

I always hear good things about interstate.

If you go optima you have to be careful to choose the right one for your use.

I don't think you encounter -20F temps too much in MO, but if you are concerned about winter an Optima battery is easily justified.
