My buddy just bought a '06 F-150 extended cab with a triton 5.4 V8 4x4. He says it's got 300 horse and rips donuts like no tomorrow! His truck has 3.73's and is all stock except a dynomax cat back. Now, we all like having the fastest truck in the group... I really hate to loose, so I wont ask for a race unless I think it's going to be close. How many times do newbies come on this site and ask the same question, "can I beat my buddy .. blah! blah! blah!" Well.... can I??

 

My truck '08 Sierra 5.3 3.73's extended cab 4X4 work truck base line truck with "high capacity air cleaner" lol.(BONE STOCK)

 

A straight line drag 0-to shut-off.

 

Who would take the checkered flag?

I'd put my money on the 5.3 if they're both stock. GM's nannies will hurt, but most posted numbers show the 5.3 hitting 0-60 faster than Ford's 5.4. My dad's work truck is a F150 with the 5.4 and it feels like a dog.

Your telling me without mods I cant take this stock F150?

 

It will be close, but you'll probably win. Every truck test I've ever seen has shown 5.4 F150's coming in last acceleration wise.

Eh...Bragging rights over speed in full size 4x4 trucks is like bragging rights on being the "cool" kid riding in the back of the short bus.

your buddys truck dose 0-60 in 8.8 seconds and yours dose it in 7.5. Just remember that when you go from dead stop to put one foot on the gas and the other on the brake. You get the fastest times in an automatic by doing this.
