08 Rotors Versus 07 Rotors

Is there a difference between rotors for 07 and 08?

My 08 Yukon Denali needs front rotors and I cannot find any aftermarket (powerslot cryo). They show 07 as available but not 08.

Anybody know for sure if they are identical?

Should be...

And how many miles do you have on the 08? It shouldn't need replacing already...If they do, take it to the dealer for premature wear. I have an 07 with 26,000 miles and mine are more or less fine, just really warped.

Yes.

The '07 s are made Taiwan and '08s are made in China.

Seriously though, the rotors should be the same, including dubious quality.

35K miles. I take long road trips. The right front rotor was getting grooved so I had then turn the front rotors. Now there is a vibration after turning them and I am getting ready for the "wear item" comment out of the dealer when I take it back. Besides I know the rotors won't last for $hit after they turn them even if they get it right. They turned the rotors but kept the grooved pads. I was hoping it would go away as they wore a little. Gonna give the dealer a shot but if they won't cover it under warranty, I'll just replace the front pads and rotors on my dime. Not worth screwing around with brakes....especially the way I drive

Yeah I know the feeling...When my pads got f-ed up on my Colorado I got the same wear item speech and ended up replacing them myself...Been trying to find a good replacement kit but the one I was looking at on Summit was actually for a truck with rear discs (12" rotors instead of 13"). Good luck on it...

Yeah,Your over the mileage, usually pads/rotors are only covered up to 20,000 miles....after that its considered a "wear item"

Wish I knew that before, I noticed my rotors were getting really grooved around 15-16,000 miles but didn't do anything cause I thought the "wear" warranty was around 7,500...

Well we're able to cover them up to 20k,I don't know if other places go a little more or less miles, but I'm pretty sure our GM service rep. will only go to 20k.

I had my pads changed and rotors turned at 10,000 miles due to squealing. Then at 35,000 had the rotors turned again cause of pulsating while coming to a stop. All under warranty.

Now at 42,000 miles and out of warranty, I just had both rotors and pads replaced and the right front caliper replaced. I could hear the wear indicator and had a lot of break dust on the right side only, however, it didn't pull to the right at all. The dealer did all this for free and deemed it a goodwill repair based on my history of brake problems.

Glad to hear that your dealer took care of you on this issue,As you said, the main reason why they "good-willed" it was because of your past brake issues, they did the right thing :(

Yea, I was surprised and impressed with their service. I'll return the favor on the CSI.

Now that is pretty impressive. Given my lack of problems before 35K, I doubt they will do it under warranty. We'll see. Thanks for the replies.

How many miles are on it? I was told that turning the rotors was covered under warranty. (3yr/36mths) Which is why they turned mine for free at 35k.

35K. They turned them once but I still have an issue and I know they cannot be turned again. We'll see what happens.
