Changing A Fuel Injector

2003, 2500 Chevy Suburban, 6L V8 Vortec.

 

I need to replace fuel injector No. 2, on this engine, since a tech2 unit shows it to be misfiring. Tried rotating the coil pack and thinking it was related.

 

Since there are four fuel injectors attached to the fuel rail on the passenger side of the engine, should I remove the the four with the fuel rail from the engine block, or should I remove the fuel rail from the four injectors to gain access to FI No.2?

I'd pull the clips and remove the rail from the injectors. That way you don't risk messing up the other injector o-rings. Either way would work.

Depending on the mileage, it may be wise to replace all of them on that rail so you are not doing it again soon. Then again, i don't here to many injector failure stories.
