i installed a new motor in the pass door yesterday and its still will not go down. it will go down maybe a inch or 2 and stop. what can i do

Was it just the motor or did you get the full deal with the regulators/arms as well. I would recommend that you disconnect the glass and tape it in the up possition, then run the motor to see if it will fully draw down or open. If is does, then you are having a binding problem and can diagnose from there. Could be that you need a new window switch as well (if it still does not go down without the glass). Just some ideas, it's of course a hands-on deal.

You are probably need to replace the regulator. In the older chevy's, it is rare that the motor goes out. The regulator assembly will usually wear out faster than the motor.
