I was looking on what my z71 package consisted of and i noticed it said off-road jounce bumpers. What are the difference in the bumpers? Sounds like a bunch of HOOP Blaa to me

A jounce bumper is located on the frame or control arm,It prevents the suspension from being pushed up into the frame/chassis to far.

so their is no difference in anything from a stock bumper and a jounce bumper?

:) Sorry, that is just too funny not to laugh at!

I am sure some on here will be able to do the same to me someday about something I know nothing about. :sigh:

Jounce bumper:An elastic cushion used to stiffen the Suspension gradually as it approaches the end of its Jounce travel. Also called jounce buffer.

Jounce:The action of bouncing. When speaking of shock-absorbers, it is the Compression stroke while Rebound is the opposite.

Love these online dictionary definitions.

Depending on how the truck was originally ordered from the factory, most z71's come with a locking rear differential and I believe a different filter setup for the Air Intake as well as what others above post.

G80 & hi capacity air cleaner are stand alone options and are not associated with Z-71 but usually ordered by dealer.

Yes and no,G80 and K47 are available as stand alone options, however they were included as part of the Z71 pkg. for certain years..

On the GMT400 trucks you had to order them as stand alone options,But on the GMT800 trucks in '99 K47 was part of the Z71 pkg.,Then starting in '04 G80 also became part of the Z71 pkg.

On the GMT900 trucks both G80 and K47 were part of the Z71 pkg.

Confusing huh?
