01 Silvy 1500 Brake Pad Question

so i decided to do my own brakes this time. I've done the front pads before but i did rear pads and front rotors and pads this time. everything went smoothly except for 1 thing. i replaced the front shims like it says your supposed to do and the only pad that was difficult to go on was the driver's inside pad. i had to tap it a little with a hammer to get it to slide on for some reason. But now i get this awefull groaning sound sometimes coming from the front right wheel. I just installed these yesterday and it's done it several times in the 20 miles i've driven it so far. could it be because i tapped the pad onto the shim? also the inside pads on both sides have a little tab on them, the name starts with an A but i forget the name. I that supposed to be on the top or bottom of the inside front pads? thanks
