I have to save, now I know why I love GM Trucks so much. Truck just turned 2 yrs a couple of days ago, along with rolling over a 100,000km. From day one I drove it like I stole it and the truck has been great to me. I only had one minor issue the first winter, and that was the oil leak from the rear main seal and a very cold winter was a factor with that. Other than that just regular maintenance and lots of accessories for it. Hopefully I'll get another 100,000km on it before its time to get a new one. Hats off to GM for a truck well built.

Cool, GM trucks are pretty reliable. Tomorrow is going to be 2 years since I bought my V-Max and it has also been very reliable. I also had the oil leak from the rear main seal, but I took it to the dealer and they fixed it, that is the only thing that has been wrong with my truck. Congrats on having your truck 2 years, it will last you longer than that if u give it regular maintenance.

congrats!!

In about two weeks mine will also be 2 years old and have had no major issues. Just had to get the rims replaced because of the clearcoat peeling.

I usually am about to trade in my trucks after 2 years but this one is staying around a while.

Mine is now 2 years old as well, although I have owned it for just over 1.

Not a single issue since I've had it.

We feel the same way about our 04 GMC that we bought just over 2 years ago, totally love it. I especially love the rear disc brakes - YES i love them. Do the brake service 3 times a year, and have not had one issue with the rear brakes, and use the parking brake regularly too.

So I have a similar problem. My 07' Sierra had an oil leak at 20K and I took it into the dealer and after two days of diags the mechanic said the following was done, "Found oil and fluid at the rear of the engine, the rear engine cover is leaking and the tran's pump seal is leaking. Replaced the rear cover gasket and the rear main seal, also replaced the tran's pump seal and gasket and the torque convertor seal." Now I have been driving it for about a week after the last trip to the dealership and it's still leaking trans fluid.

My question is why in 20K are all of these factory seals and gaskets breaking down, the truck hasn't been driven much and is in a typically clam climate, what can I expect at 40K? The mechanic also said that he had to drop the trans to get to the leaky spot, and I was told it was a 'minor' job. Dropping the trans seems to be a major issue to me. Have you had any additional trouble with your rear main or other seals around the center of the powertrain assembly? I'm beginning to believe that 100K is almost impossible for any new style of pickup due to the cost-effectiveness of the problems that start very early on in terms of engine and chassis life. Is there any hope?

Thanks,

Mark

Great to hear the truck is doing well after 100k Blair! I'm enjoying mine so far and hope it stands up the same.
