Hello...

Just got through installin K&N Air Intake..All I did was disconnect neg batt terminal and unplug mass air flow sensor..Everything else was just physical tubing/gasket install..

Now with AC on, all I get is hot hot hot air blowing in defrost section only...NO AC and cannot switch to face forward blow or feet blow..Speed of fan works and controls on display show everything should be where it is, but not happening..

Please help...Anyone...WHAT HAPPENED??

Thanks,

Stephen

I used a bracket fot the air filter assembly..But nothing else...It was just bolts...It had something to do with me disconnecting the battery or mass air flow sensor...Other than that, it was just tightening the bolts...

My guess is that you somehow knocked loose or unplugged a vacuum hose going to the air mix doors.

It defaulted to heat mode...

All GMT400,800 &900 have electronic HVAC no vacuum.

Interesting...I didn't know that.

Mu 2006 Chevy van still uses some vacuum hoses.

OK, it worked before and not now.....You worked around the ac bracket installing the filter.....check the connector on the compressor as well as the pressure cut off switch connector on the receiver dryer. Gotta be something that you bumped and knocked loose, nothing is that coincidental. not the fuse either

Sorry..Just Woundering....not sure why you disconnected the batt? Even if you unplug the Mass air flow sensor...you didn't need to disconnect the batt....

My buddy works at a GMC Dealer...I will call him tomorrow to see if I can find out any info about this.

As was stated above, check the A/C fuse. Then with the engine running, A/C on high, cold, recirc, pull the plug on the pressure switch that is in the dryer/accumulator, take a thin paperclip and jump the connector pins. The compressor should engage. If not, it's possible the problem is either coincidental to the work you did or you did indeed do something to cause the A/C to stop working. Check the High side pressure switch connector for secure attachment. It's on the hardline leading to the dryer accumulator and is located around the air cleaner area.

I just had a problem with my A/C on sunday. I fired the truck up using the remote start truck sounded like it started then when I actually got up to it, the truck was not running. I started her right up had the A/C on and it was just blowing hot air. Turned the system off and on again and still only hot air. I got home shut the truck off and fired it back up hoping there was just some freak thing tat caused it to not work right. But still nothing. I shut her off and came in to search here for answers and was not abe to come up with anything. after about 15 minutes of searching the internet, I went back out to check it and it was working fine all of a sudden. I have not had any other problems since sunday. Sorry I cannot help but maybe you have a fluke problem like I did. Hope it all works out. I know I was pissed when mine was not working

On disconnecting the battery...

I just followed the directions...I though why should I have to disconnect the batt, and I thought it had something to do with the disconnect on the mass air flow...

Thanks for all your responses..I am headed out now to try some things you all have suggested...
