I just took delivery today of my brand new 2015 Mission MU 6.5x12 F-W ... To pull my Polaris Ranger on ...

I went with the lower front rail, so I can always ramp an ATV up to the bed of a pickup truck, from the deck of the trailer.

Features:

Aluminum Frame

5/4 PT Decking

Heavy Duty D-Rings (4)

2"x2" Box Rail

LED Lights

Aluminum 15" Wheels.

Bi-Fold Gate

Removable Fenders

Total weight 550#, GVWR 2990#, size 6.5' x 12', total length 16'

Looks nice!

What made you pick aluminum over steel?

I went with aluminum because it's lightweight, doesn't rust, nothing to minimal maintenance, higher load capacity as the trailer itself weighs less.

This trailer weighs only 550#, so basically, my legal load capacity is just about 2500#, which isn't bad for a single axle trailer. The axle is rated for 3500#, and you know that they under-rate it a bit. So, I bet I could haul 3000# without a problem.

This trailer will last me easily 20, if not 30 years. That's only $125.00 a year for 20, and $83.50 a year for 30 ... That's isn't much cost per year for a nice trailer ...

If I had gone with the aluminum decking, I would have saved another 80# (470#-480# range) ... But that was a $350 option, and I think that the trailer would have been too light at that point.

Also with wood decking, I can screw things into the decking to help secure it. I know you wouldn't want to do that with an aluminum deck.

Plus aluminum is slick as hell with snow and ice on it ... Loading a 1300# toy, sliding around your trailer would suck.

I Agree with you on the decking. I perfer the wood also for the reason you stated like if you have a screw something down or even drop something heavy on it .

Since a few of you have asked ...

Here is the new trailer loaded, with the Polaris Ranger 800 LE. I wanted a 14', but settled on a 12', because I didn't want to go to tandem axles ... With the Ranger backed on, I probably can still get a 4-wheeler on it, sideways. Like I also said, I can ramp from the deck of the trailer, right into the back of the truck if needed.

Too bad I just sold my Silverado SS ... Have to use the Plow Truck ...

I also had my little buddy helping me out, every step of the way ...
