No, a RST doesn't sit 3" higher than an LT. They should be the same ride height. Has anybody else noticed this new app on their radio? According to the following link is only available to people who don't have factory navigation, but have an OnStar subscription of $15/month or more. Interesting. It would be nice if the Silverado with the analog gauges would display the speed limit.

I don't believe any of the tonneau covers you've recommended would be considered "retractable". They are either trifold or quadfold. Retractable bed covers are like garage doors that roll into a canister. They are $1000+. Powered versions can be over $2000. If you look into the ones I mentioned above and you'll see the differences.

Try being the guy that works at the rental car company that gets all those sorts of questions, but no training on the cars. That's why they always look like a deer in the headlights. I stopped asking them due to feeling sorry for them.

Do you have a pic of that cluster with the gauges above the screen shown? I'm not familiar with the Colorado and if it has 2 different clusters like the Sierra/Silverado. With that said, I don't have 100% confidence in GM factory navigation, but I think it's better than Android Auto/Apple Carplay. I had less than satisfactory experience with the latter. The street I live on has been around for over 50 years (based on age of home). If I use factory navigation to get me home, and fail to turn it off once I know where I'm at, I'll pull into my street and get an audible notification that I'm no longer driving on a designated road. This is ironic since it recognizes my address. My street has a different name from the street I turn off to get onto it.

There's some incomplete or inaccurate info in this thread. I'm going to try to clear that up. If you have the IOS radio (8" color screen) you can add factory navigation. I did it through MVi. However, adding factory navigation won't automatically give you the speed limit on your DIC. If you have the cluster with 4 actual gauges in the top for fuel, oil pressure, battery, etc then the speed limit cannot be displayed on the screen. You'd need to get the digital cluster from the LTZ and High Country trucks. Iirc, WAMS can help you with that. FYI, telling us it's a Texas Edition does not help us know how to advise you. Texas Edition is available on a couple trim levels. So is All Star. We need to know if it's a LT, RST, Custon, LTZ, etc.

I have not found a retractable bed cover that doesn't partially cover the stake holes. Retrax and Advantage (same product, different label) both partially cover the stake holes. Roll and Lock looked like it also does based on photos I found online. Becoming aware of this, I decided to fill the stake pockets with caps and mounted the pole handle the multipro tailgates come with. It is a perfect fit with the Retrax bed cover.

I have all the part numbers written down, but I'm currently in bed. I'll try to remember to post them in the morning. This is on my list of things to do, and there are threads where people have already done it. Total cost of parts is about $250-$300.

We don't know the trim level of the truck. It is our assumption the OP has wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto.

That's what she said. Do you have wireless phone charging? If not, have you considered upgrading to that? It keeps your phone in the bin under the radio, but if you connect via cable to the radio you'll be able to use Android Auto or Apple carplay on the screen of your radio.

Thank you for saying this. I have the 40" light bar on top of the GM sportbar, and the ditch lights on the hood hinges, but even with the the high beams and all lights on i was disappointed with the lack of light right in front of the truck when offroading at night. I've been on the fence with getting the dual Rough Country 10" lights because i thought they'd be overkill. Sounds like they will be exactly what i need.

While installing my new bed cover I realized the rear stake pockets would be halfway covered up, so I bought some caps for the stake pockets. Shortly after doing this my wife attempted to climb into the back of the bed to watch our son's baseball game. It didn't go well, she got upset, and I was on the doghouse. Still trying to figure that one out since it's my truck. Anyways, she told me to fix it. I decided to install the pole/handle that is available for the trucks with the multipro tailgates. It took my dealer a little work because GM has some stupid thing going on where it's on indefinite backorder, but if you can place an order with a VIN number then they'll get it to you asap. He built on truck on GMC's website and ran an inventory search to get the VIN. Everything arrived today, and this was one of the easiest installs I've ever had to do. Right up there with changing the reverse lights to LED. Btw, this install just barely fits with the Retrax bed cover. Parts needed are the pole/handle, a mounting bracket, 2 nuts, and 1 bolt. Total cost with tax will set you back about $250. Btw, wife gave this a try and is satisfied.

The Ford Raptor has aux switches where our rear window/sunroof switches are, but the blunt cut wires are under the hood. Essentially, GM would have to include auxiliary switches as a package or else for all trucks.

Yeah, it'll work, but that tire size isn't a 33. I recommend going with a 275/60 on that 20" wheel if you want a true 33. 285/55/20 = 32.34" 275/60/20 = 32.99" Personally, I'm not a fan of the lift kit you're recommending. The issues are going to be with the cv axles and upper control arms. I recommend the Trail Boss 2" lift kit through GM Accessories. It is a lot more expensive, but it has a GM-backed warranty. I do not think it affects the vehicle ride, with the exception of the shocks. The stocks can always be replaced, and many people with Trail Bosses seem to prefer Bilstein shocks.

I called a bunch of welders at the end of last week to get quotes, find out availability, etc. All of them are booked a few weeks out. Figured I'd wait it out by putting my Retrax be cover on. It's not perfect, but it'll suffice for now.

I'm relieved and pleased that GM didn't go with push button gear selector like in the Tahoe and Suburban. I bought a 2020 for 2 reasons, one of which was concern that the a 21 or 22 would have those push buttons. It's the same reason I didn't buy a Ram. That dial is a huge nope. Imo, the only thing Ford had going for it was the console shifter. Hopefully the console shifter will still be around in 15-20 years when I decide to buy another truck (hopefully my current truck lasts a long). I don't mind the column shifter. It is a reasonable compromise, but downhill driving is much easier with a console shifter. And, if I want to get sporty with my truck it's more convenient to control with a console shifter than a dual, push buttons, or column shifter. Big yeah for steering wheel paddles if I want to get sporty out in the desert, and I think that's why GM put them there to begin with -- ZRX. As for the buttons at the bottom, that whole area looks like it came from a late 80s- early 90s car. It'll suffice, but could've been better.

Yes, you can tow that trailer with your truck. The loaded weight of your trailer being 4300 lbs is far below your max conventional trailer weight of 9400 lbs. Your trailers tongue weight will likely be between 430 lbs to 645 lbs, which is less than the 940 lbs max tongue weight your truck is rated for. However, when figuring your numbers, you need to take the tongue weight when your trailer is connected and subtract it from your max payload of 1788 lbs. This means you'll only be able to load into your truck a maximum of 1,143 lbs to 1,358 lbs. That applies to all people, pets, equipment, etc. I hope this info helps you with your question.

Some of you guys clearly have toothpicks for arms, lol. I just installed the Putco blade led light bar on my truck. That was very easy. If you're thinking about doing this, make sure you have zip ties so you can bundle up the absurd amount of excess wire that is on this kit. I also happen to have a spray bottle filled with a 50:50 mixture of distilled water and 90% isopropyl alcohol for cleaning firearms. This is very handy for cleaning the surfaces you're sticking the double-sided tape onto, both the brackets and the truck body. It came in handy today.
